This series consists of reports, annual reports, correspondence, memoranda, and other records that document the activities of the Division of Forestry. The bulk of the records deal with fire protection. These records include information on the placement and construction of water towers and fire towers, state land grants at Muscle Shoals, Ala., and severance tax reports. The series also contains information regarding school indemnity lands and payments to the Dept. of Education by the LeBuck Coal Company of Irondale and the Mill Creek Coal Company of Carbon Hill.
